BTCC 2022 cars
Toyota has confirmed its full constructor line-up for the 2022 BTCC season. The Japanese manufacturer will run 29 cars with nine of the drivers eligible for the Jack Sears Trophy. BTCC drivers
The 2019 season will kick off on May 4, with the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship visiting Croft Circuit in Yorkshire. Three pulsating contests are set for the final race of the championship, which will feature three champions – Ashley Sutton, Colin Turkington, and Tom Ingram. Former champion Gordon Shedden is also set to attend the event. In addition to the three reigning champions, many other drivers will be making their first appearances in the championship.
BTCC starting positions
The BTCC race series is a high-speed non-contact competition where starting positions differ between races. Race one’s grid is decided by qualifying, while race two is decided by the finishing order of race one. Ballast varies from 60kg to six kg in race two. Generally, the starting positions are intended to encourage overtaking. However, the championship’s organisers have taken an increasingly strict stance against contact.

The 2022 season of the British Touring Car Championship will feature three races at the renowned Donington Park National circuit. In addition to bringing a hybrid formula to the series, the championship will also feature four Scottish drivers. Former champion Ash Sutton, Colin Turkington, Tom Ingram and David Coulthard will all line up in this year’s championship. Hybrid powertrains
The British touring car championship (BTCC) is currently piloting the use of hybrid powertrains. In this competition, drivers are allowed a maximum of 15 seconds of electric power deployment, via a 60V axial flux permanent magnet motor, from P11 onwards. The duration of hybrid power deployment decreases incrementally from positions 10 to one, while the championship leader can use zero hybrid power throughout the race.
